life sucks right now.

You’re here because you can’t keep feeling the way you feel. You want to feel emotionally safe to speak to your deepest, darkest thoughts and start cracking open the shell that hides the reasons and past experiences that have gotten you to this point. You want to finally let some light in. You want to feel like you can breathe again.

You want to know if I can help.

There are many different ways therapists can “do” therapy. This is how I choose to approach healing with my clients:

  • use different exercises and tools from different modalities because therapy is not one-size-fits-all

  • We will talk not only about what’s going on in your mind, but also about what’s happening in your physical body, because our bodies carry and hold emotion and memory, too

  • Together, we will get curious about your childhood, adolescence and young adulthood, because what happened back then informs how you manage things now.

That’s totally fair! I’m not for everyone and everyone is not for me, and that’s okay. But it’s my job to make sure you have all the details you need to make the right decision FOR YOU.

Here’s what to expect when we start working together:

  • My clients are okay with being asked the hard questions because they understand why I’m asking: not to hurt but to heal.

  • My clients are willing to take a good look at their own behaviour, thoughts and emotions, and go deep to find the root of the issue

  • My clients are open to new and different perspectives. It’s not my job to tell you how to live your life, but it’s also not my job to sugarcoat what I’m noticing.

  • My clients understand that therapy is not a quick fix but a mix of commitment, hard work, truth, humility and curiosity. From both of us, because therapy is a collaborative effort.

wondering if i’m the right therapist for you?

What makes me different from the other therapists you’re considering? Therapy is often the first place where clients allow themselves to experience authenticity. Showing up as my authentic self allows you to see first-hand what life could look and feel like when you finally trust your enoughness and start to do the same.

I know what it’s like to live life by the expectations of others. I’ve done the work that you’re just beginning. So, when I say we will walk through this together, I mean it.

Trust is a big deal in therapy. I bring a level of engagement to our sessions that my clients find relatable, compassionate and comforting.

I went back to school and achieved my Masters degree at the age of 40. My clients often like that I’m a little older because I have lots of life experience to help support them in what they’re going through.

Also? I am no blank slate. When you share things with me, big or small or funny or messed up, you will see it on my face. Not because I’m judging you—but because we’re both human and we deserve to experience connection with the stories we tell one another.

why rebel psychotherapy?

why rebel psychotherapy?

The word rebel can have a negative connotation, but I think of it as pushing against the norm; more specifically, challenging what others expect from us. Living our lives as anyone but our true selves isn’t worth it, but it can feel very uncomfortable to step outside the proverbial box in the name of authenticity. I chose to name my practice Rebel Psychotherapy to inspire you to lean into the rebel inside of you, and trust you’re worthy of living life on your own terms.

say hello to your rebel self.

Let’s do this.
